Damlataş Cave; It is located at a distance of one kilometer from the Alanya district and its formation process is based on very old ones. The cave was found at the end of 1948 when the Alanya pier was built and the workers put the dynamite in the rocks and exploded.

When workers entered the cave, they encountered many stalactites and stalagmites. It is also known that the depth of the cave, which covers an area of ​​approximately 200 square meters, is 15 meters. In order to get to the center of the cavern it is necessary to pass through a passage of approximately 50 meters in priority. It is also worth noting that the internal temperature of the cave has remained at 22 degrees per year, unchanged from summer to winter.

It is believed that the formation of the Damlataş Cave dates back to 15,000 years ago. When it rains, limescale flows from the ceiling of the cave. These waters produced stalactite over time due to the cave heat and the cave humidity. At the same time, as a result of accumulation of drips on the ground, the deposits froze to form stalagmites. It is known that the cave became the result of erosion of the rocks of sea water long ago.

It is a fact that the weather and gasses in the Damlataş Cave make it good for asthma disease and sometimes it can pass this disease completely. Due to the high ratio of carbon dioxide in the cave and the humidity over 90%, the cave can heal asthmatic patients. The treatment system specially designed for asthma patients allows all asthma patients to go to the cave in the morning when the cave has not yet been opened to tourists and to spend four hours there. Patients spend time in the cave between the hours of 06:00 and 10:00 each day for 21 days. Cave entrances are more discounted for asthma patients. This small amount is known for symbolic purposes only.

Asthma patients who visit the cave with the aim of treatment pay 0,30 cents on entry fee. This fee is only taken symbolically from asthmatic patients. Adults who come to the cave for touristic purposes pay TL 4.50, while students pay TL 2.25 for entrance fee. At the same time, a special discount is applied to the crowded groups who come to the cave during the winter months. Forty people and groups with a number above them can visit the cave by paying TL 1.18 per person. The cave, martyrs and veterans’ families open their doors to the disabled free of charge.
