What is the month of Ramadan?
The month of Ramadan is the name of the ninth month according to the lunar calendar (calculated according to the month).
The Ramadan moon is a great highlight in our religion and has a distinguished place among other months. Because our holy book, the Qur’an, began to be downloaded in this month.
The “kadir night”, which is reported to be better than a thousand months in the Qur’an, is also celebrated again this month. In addition, fasting, one of the fundamental worship of Islam, is held in this month. For this reason, the month of Ramadan is the most sacred month for Muslims and it is called “the sultan of eleven months”.
The place of Qur’an in Ramadan
One of the precious causes of Ramadan is that the Holy Qur’an, the Qur’an, has been revealed in this month. Allah Almighty says in the Qur’an, “The month of Ramadan is the month of the Qur’an, which separates people from the wrong side, which leads to the way of salvation. “(Baqara, Surat, verse 185). The Qur’an was sent by Allah to show people guidance and guidance. For this reason, the Qur’an is of vital value for human beings. Reading the Qur’an is a worship.
Our Prophet encouraged us to read the Qur’an very much in order to frequently remember our duties and responsibilities that Allah has revealed. Muslims pay more attention to reading the Qur’an in Ramadan than ever. For this they come together in houses or in the houses and read twenty pages from the Qur’an every day. When you arrive at the end of the month of Ramadan, they will read the Qur’an from beginning to end. This is called hatim. Then a hatim prayer is made. Muslims have maintained this tradition for centuries.
My Qur’anic is started to be downloaded at Kadir Night of Ramadan. Kadir night is known as the 27th night of Ramadan. Almighty Allah has informed us that “Night is better than a thousand months”. Prophet Muhammad also said, “Whoever believes and rewards his beloved from God, he will be forgiven of his past sins if he evaluates the Night of Kadir” (Bukhari).
Ramadan drummer is the person who wakes up the people with the sound of drums by walking the streets between the streets at night when the Muslims fast during Ramadan.
This practice which took place in Ramadan has become a tradition which has been going on since the Ottoman period in Turkey.
The drummer is almost always a man. Towards the end of the moon, he gathers money from the inhabitants of the neighborhood.
Although the fact that the house without the alarm clock is not kept today has lifted the necessity of the Ramadan drums, the conservative part of tradition finds it nostalgic and still waits for the sound of the drums.
Feast of Ramadan
2017 June 25 Ramadan Feast Day 1 (Sunday)
The three-day festival, which was celebrated at the end of the month of Ramadan, was named “Candy Feast”.
This feast began to be known as the “Candy Feast” because the palace sent the soldiers tray baklava after the fifteenth of Ramadan, the sweet food of the people at the end of the fasting period, the candies were given to the people at the next celebrations after the fasting period was completed and the children did not get the holiday allowance.
Festivals have a deep sense other than shape. Feasts are important days that bring people close to each other, lift up disrespect, and strengthen friendship and fraternity.
Nowadays seniors, elders, weak, poor people want to be remembered. It is good to remember those who died these days, to pray for them, to visit their graves.
